Liberals Want to Spend $1000 for each Student's School Funding

Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff speaks at Sheridan College in Oakville about a new $1 billion campaign for student College Funding. Ignatieff wants to take this 1 billion dollars and give $1000 every year for four years, to each student to help pay for college. Ignatieff also stated that this money would not be needed to be paid back to the government. "I can say without exaggeration that this is a real revolution in learning and training in Canada — and that will give us the means of becoming the most competitive society in the world," Ignatieff said. Also, A Liberal statement had stated that the program would be an addition to the existing tuition education tax credits and textbook tax subsidies. Ignatieff has just launched this $1 billion dollar campaign and is leaving Toronto and Québec for the first time and is heading to Vancouver.

I personally do not like Michael Ignatieff as a leader. Firstly, this $1 billion dollars is such a ridiculous idea! 4 thousand dollars to every student does not make sense. This money might be wasted due to drop outs by the people receiving the 1000 dollars. Also, there are many more things that this $1 billion dollars can be used for. Education is key but the people can get jobs or student loans or other means of funding. People without houses, people who are disabled or even hospitals that need fixing better deserve this money. With this I believe that Ignatieff should not be Canada’s Prime Minister
