Parks Canada Celebrates 100 years of Discovery

Canada has the best backyard in the world. Canada is famous for its fantastic and peaceful wilderness. The country of Holland can fit into Lake Huron very easily still with room to splash around. Canada has plenty of places to explore. Canada has new cities which are dynamic and evolving. But it is the beauty of the massive forests, towering mountains, pristine lakes and the land’s sheer breadth that attracts many visitors. This year is Parks Canada 100th anniversary. Parks Canada administers 42 national parks that this year attracted 22 million people. The agency we know as Parks Canada was established on May 19, 1911 as the Dominion Parks Branch under the department of the interior. This was the world’s first national park service.

This is one of those moments when you are proud to be Canadian. As a Canadian you are so happy to see that you have such a beautiful place to live. It is truly incredible that Parks Canada is celebrating 100 years with so man y beautiful sights to see. It is such an honor to live in the world’s best play ground.

Toronto's zoo Elephants

The Toronto Zoo board had decided to move the elephants to an AZA approved zoo. The Toronto zoo board also passed a motion by chair Joe Torzsok that would allow sending the elephants to a sanctuary if a suitable zoo ca not be found. Alain Fafard who is a director of Granby Zoo wants to bring the Toronto elephants to this zoo. Granby Zoo had renovated its elephant enclosure in 2006. The zoo has more than 7,000-square-metres of outdoor play area with a graduated-depth pool for the elephants. Seven elephants have died at the Toronto Zoo since 1984 and after the death of Tara in 2009this exhibit is under debate to hold elephants.

I believe that the elephants should be moved to a different zoo. If 8 elephants have died in less than 25 years at Toronto zoo something is wrong. The Granby zoo is a great facility for the animals. The Granby zoo already has to elephants that live there and is an established zoo for elephants. I strongly think that the Toronto zoo should give their elephants to the Granby zoo.

Peaceful ‘pot heads’ march for marijuana

It was Saturday may 7th when a peaceful march was held for Marijuana. 25,000 people who smoke and protest that marijuana should be legal and be easier to access for medical reasons joined in this march. These 25,000 people spent most of the day smoking joints on the lawn at Queen’s Park. Many of the people protesting worked up an appetite while parading across downtown streets with banners that said things that displayed better access to medical marijuana or the legalization of marijuana itself. This parade was very successful and all people paraded peacefully which was always the main goal.

I am very happy this years parade went smoothly and peacefully. All of the people who joined in this parade had said what they needed to say in the best way they can. I agree marijuana should be legalized because although it is a drug it is better than most other illegal drugs. In my opinion I think they should legalize marijuana and focus on the drugs that make a bigger difference that harm more people like: Crystal meth, heroin, gate way drugs, and prescription pills like oxycotten and morphine.

bin laden Dead Picture Wont be Released

The world most known terrorist osama bin laden was killed and the picture of his execution will not be released. Obama had decided not to release the picture due to its graphic nature. Obama had also said he didn’t want to release the picture because it could cause a national security problem for the United States. Obama said some people may deny the fact that he is dead but the fact that you will never see him walk the earth again will prove his death. It was stated that if the picture was shown other terrorist groups or his followers would take it as disrespect and inflict war on the United States.

I strongly believe that President Obama did the right thing. If people saw the picture they would gloat about it and across the world this picture would be seen and there definitely would be a national security issue. I do not deny the fact he is dead because of the detail of the attack and what he had in his pockets. To me I do not care if I see the picture or not, he is dead and now I know he will not cause terror in the world any longer. This is what people should focus on, he is dead and we are all safe from hi terror. In conclusion I am very happy this awful, heartless, coward is dead.
