Parks Canada Celebrates 100 years of Discovery

Canada has the best backyard in the world. Canada is famous for its fantastic and peaceful wilderness. The country of Holland can fit into Lake Huron very easily still with room to splash around. Canada has plenty of places to explore. Canada has new cities which are dynamic and evolving. But it is the beauty of the massive forests, towering mountains, pristine lakes and the land’s sheer breadth that attracts many visitors. This year is Parks Canada 100th anniversary. Parks Canada administers 42 national parks that this year attracted 22 million people. The agency we know as Parks Canada was established on May 19, 1911 as the Dominion Parks Branch under the department of the interior. This was the world’s first national park service.

This is one of those moments when you are proud to be Canadian. As a Canadian you are so happy to see that you have such a beautiful place to live. It is truly incredible that Parks Canada is celebrating 100 years with so man y beautiful sights to see. It is such an honor to live in the world’s best play ground.

  1. It's celebrations like these that really make you proud to be Canadian. 100th year anniversary is such an accomplishment. Parks Canada was one of the most important department in our country. Those who know Canada know us for our scenic displays throughout the country. To ensure that we preserve these beautiful places we have the Parks of Canada which is a very important service in our country. After looking at all of this, it really makes me proud to be Canadian and reminds me how lucky we are for being in this country.

  2. I agree with both Rory and Nick, it does really make you proud to be a Canadian when you realize what exactly it is that we have in our own backyards. Be it the aforementioned magnificent mountains, or the towering trees that dominate the landscape, this place is truly beautiful. Also, I think it's great that there is a branch of government specifically designated to the protection of these awesome landscapes.
