Peaceful ‘pot heads’ march for marijuana

It was Saturday may 7th when a peaceful march was held for Marijuana. 25,000 people who smoke and protest that marijuana should be legal and be easier to access for medical reasons joined in this march. These 25,000 people spent most of the day smoking joints on the lawn at Queen’s Park. Many of the people protesting worked up an appetite while parading across downtown streets with banners that said things that displayed better access to medical marijuana or the legalization of marijuana itself. This parade was very successful and all people paraded peacefully which was always the main goal.

I am very happy this years parade went smoothly and peacefully. All of the people who joined in this parade had said what they needed to say in the best way they can. I agree marijuana should be legalized because although it is a drug it is better than most other illegal drugs. In my opinion I think they should legalize marijuana and focus on the drugs that make a bigger difference that harm more people like: Crystal meth, heroin, gate way drugs, and prescription pills like oxycotten and morphine.

  1. I agree with you, I think marijuana should be legalized. One thing with it is that the government would make a killing off of it and they would be able to sell it cheaper than street dealers, making them all go out of business. I think that the government will legalize it soon but still have it be illigal to grow your own for the reason that they want to make money.

  2. I agree with Nick and many others when they say marijuana should be legalized. It's not really a drug, it's just a plant, there's really no reason for it to be illegal. And yeah, Nick is completely correct when he said that they have focus on the real drugs, like meth, heroin, cocaine etc. These are the real drugs that make differences in peoples lives, marijuana not so much.

  3. I personally disagree with the opinion that marijuana should be legalized. When you say that weed is just a plant, it's the same thing as saying that cocaine is just a part of the coca plant. Also, if people are already being killed from people that have decided to drive under the influence of alcohol, what happens if they legalize dope, which has far more effect on the body than alcohol does? People will literally be dying daily. For those reasons, I don't think it should be legalized.
