Canadians facing charges in Dominican

Four Canadians and an Algerian man face charges following a brawl outside the nightclub in the Dominican Republic. A 19 year old Barrie resident, Jordan Morrison, vacationing in the Dominican is beaten to death. He embarked in this brawl by defending a woman who was being harassed by one of the Canadian men. Two other Canadians saw what happened and will be giving formal statements to what happened in court. Jordan Morrison lived with Asperger’s syndrome which is a type of autism. He was known as an avid skateboarder by his friends and neighbors. He was a good man and later on in life he wanted to join the military. He had also just recently graduated from Barrie North Collegiate Institute. Jordan Morrison was a good person.

I believe this is unfortunate event for Canadians and all who have known Jordan Morrison. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He did a heroic act by defending the young lady who was being harassed. Jordan was going to be in the military and he would have been an amazing asset to Canada’s military. It was also said that only 2 of the Canadian men will stay in jail until the case is over. But the other Canadian and Algerian will most likely post bail. I strongly believe that jail time should be handed out to all who were in the fight. It is a true misfortune to see such a great person die in such an awful way.

  1. I personally think that this is horrible. Jordan was protecting a woman who was being harassed and then gets killed because of it. That is definately not right. I agree 100% with what Nick said, everyone who was involved needs to be punished - somebody is dead because of what they did. This is a very sad and unfortunate event for all of Jordan's friends and family and I send my condolences to them. It is clear that Jordan was a true Canadian and was dedicated to his country. What he did was absolutely amazing and people will remember him for that. I personally hope that this never happens again.
