Ignatieff makes Harper look like a Fool

Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff challenged conservative leader Steven Harper to a one on one debate. Steven Harper declined this request and will not attend the debate. Ignatieff had stated that Harper cannot be trusted. Harper wanted to do the debate saying, “Lets step in to the ring toe to toe.” But suddenly Harper backed out. Ignatieff is saying that if this man is backing out and changing things he is not to be trusted. Harper was all for the debate and then backed out. Ignatieff has the right to be mad at Harper because he lied.

I believe that Steven Harper made a promise to debate and then backed out. This is a terrible thing to do as a prime minister because people trust his word that is why he is Prime Minister. Ignatieff was asked to a debate he accepted and when he accepted Harper backed out and that is not something a Prime Minister should do. I believe that Ignatieff will win the next election Steven Harper is not reliable.

Liberals Want to Spend $1000 for each Student's School Funding

Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff speaks at Sheridan College in Oakville about a new $1 billion campaign for student College Funding. Ignatieff wants to take this 1 billion dollars and give $1000 every year for four years, to each student to help pay for college. Ignatieff also stated that this money would not be needed to be paid back to the government. "I can say without exaggeration that this is a real revolution in learning and training in Canada — and that will give us the means of becoming the most competitive society in the world," Ignatieff said. Also, A Liberal statement had stated that the program would be an addition to the existing tuition education tax credits and textbook tax subsidies. Ignatieff has just launched this $1 billion dollar campaign and is leaving Toronto and Québec for the first time and is heading to Vancouver.

I personally do not like Michael Ignatieff as a leader. Firstly, this $1 billion dollars is such a ridiculous idea! 4 thousand dollars to every student does not make sense. This money might be wasted due to drop outs by the people receiving the 1000 dollars. Also, there are many more things that this $1 billion dollars can be used for. Education is key but the people can get jobs or student loans or other means of funding. People without houses, people who are disabled or even hospitals that need fixing better deserve this money. With this I believe that Ignatieff should not be Canada’s Prime Minister

Man kills school Girl in Shooting

A police officer was working on security duty at a store on boxing day when he heard up to 12 gunfire shots. He was in the store and all people panicked, people were running frantically in and outside of the store. When the police officer upholstered his weapon he ran outside and he saw School girl, Jane Creba, who was lying their dead on the street. The law broken was committing a murder, citizens of Canada have the right to be free and live life without the worries of people in possession of deadly weapons. Canadians have the responsibility to not commit murder or harm to other citizens. Also, the consequence varies on the murder scene.

At this crime scene there is no evidence but the person is strongly believed to have committed the crime he may receive 5 to 10 years. But, if the person has evidence against them they can go to jail for life. I believe people who commit murder should be put away for life in jail. This is a current rule so I believe it is a great rule. Although the person who committed this crime got away with it I strongly believe he should have gone to jail.

Couple Charged with Elder Abuse

This article is about an elder Chinese woman who was forced to live in her son’s garage. This woman was found living in the garage with no suitable needs for a human, by the neighbor next door. The neighbors name was Chao Yang and he had stated to the police that he never sees the garage door open. Later on the police got involved and for 4 months Yang’s neighbor had kept his mother in the garage. His mother lived in the garage because she was defecating and urinating on herself and did not seem to notice. At approximately 10:50 on a Wednesday night the police got a call that a woman was unconscious and unresponsive. They later found that she had not eaten for many days and only had 1 piece of bread in her “room”. This woman had suffered from elder abuse from her own son who made her live in the garage.

This is an awful example of elder abuse. It was said that this is the worst example of elder abuse the police officer has ever seen. It is so hard to believe that this woman was forced to live in her son’s garage by her own son. It is sad to see that her son did not seek help for his mother when she was most in need. I really hope that this woman will receive help and that her son will be charged and go to jail for doing such an awful thing.

Black and White Faternal Twins!

Twins Triniti and Ghabriael Cunningham are your average fraternal twins. They were sadly born 11 weeks early but pulled through and are growing healthy babies. They like to play together and are quite happy. Although they are brother and sister and twins a rare occurrence that had occurred. Triniti and Ghabriael were different skin color. Triniti is black and Ghabriael is white. The odds of this happening are rare to never and in fact it is so rare there is no statistic to display the odds. It is said this had occurred because one child got more genes that controlled for more darkly pigmented skin color. While the other twin had received more genes that had coded for less pigmentation.

This is such a rare occurrence and i believe it is a fantastic miracle. I believe that these twins are both very lucky that they are healthy and happy and that they shouldn't care about what color they are. Also, I think that it is very amazing that they are twins but they are different skin color. In conclusion i am very happy for this family to have awesome twins.

Obama proposes fee for Canadian visitors to the U.S.

In this article it states that barrack Obama wants to charge Canadians a fee for entering the states by air or sea. The proposal is shown in the 2012 federal draft budget that he had submitted to Congress. It is a huge value of $5.50 but it will not apply to visitors entering the United States in private vehicles. Also, the visitors coming from Canada, Mexico and a many of the Caribbean countries are at this moment in time exempt from “passenger inspection fees." Also, according to Statistics Canada around 16 million Canadians flew into the United States in 2009. This proposal was made as Canada and the U.S. move toward increased cross-border cooperation.

I believe this a ridiculous thing for President Obama to do. We are an alliance and he shouldn’t charge his fellow country to enter his country. Although the U.S is in a huge financial deficit he shouldn’t charge Canadians to enter his country. When Canadians enter the U.S. Canadians usually spend money so there is no reason for us to spend an Extra $5.50 for the U.S to make money.

Dalai Lama's Nephew Killed

It was Monday February 14th when the Dalai Lama’s nephew was killed on a highway. He was raising awareness for the struggle with the Taliban for the independence in china. Jigme K. Norbu was only 45. He was hit while marking the 50th anniversary of the failed Tibetan rebellion against Chinese rule. Jigme Norbu was walking down the white line of the unlit highway and was struck by an SUV. The SUV was driven by a man named Keith R. O’Dell of Palm Coast. Unfortunately he was driving with his 2 young children when he hit Norbu. Norbu’s late father was a high lama who was also an abbot of a monastery when the Chinese invaded. The brother fled into exile during the time 0f 1959.

I believe it is very sad that a man of this importance and of this stature was killed. He was killed very unfortunately and it is sad that he died this way. But although he did die he died doing the thing he loved the most. He died helping a cause he believed in. I also feel very bad for the man who hit Norbu because it was not his fault but he still did kill a person. Also, I think the highway should put lights up because 2 people have already died by getting hit by cars. So in conclusion I believe this highway should have lights to prevent people from injury and death.

TTC worker charged in bus passenger assault

Toronto TTC bus driver is going to court for the assault of a bus passenger. The driver was arrested on Tuesday following the assault on January the 8th. The person who was shoved was a man names Isaac Gould. He was with his 10 year old son when the bus driver had assaulted Mr. Gould. It all started when a TTC bus driver boarded at the bus terminal and seemed irritated. The bus was completely full and the driver proceeded to the next stop. When the driver saw 5 more passengers he began to get angry. The bus driver got angry and screamed at all of the passengers to move back. There was no room for anyone to move and that is when the bus driver got up and pushed Mr. Gould into a poll on the bus. He then went to the back of the bus shoving all the people in the bus. Later on Gould called the 42 division of the police and the bus dispatcher ordered the driver to pull over. Gould said he is worried for the emotional impact on his son. This is the only way for him to pick up his son and his son doesn’t ant to take the TTC anymore. There will be a scheduled court appearance on March 7th.

I believe that the bus driver did a wrong thing by taking the situation to the next level. The driver should have just said to the people move back and just stay calm. The bus driver should be fired because that is not tolerated in today’s society. The TTC Company should also give the Gould family a VIP pass for the bus so that they can ride the bus for free. In conclusion I believe the gould family deserves an apology for the wrong done by the TTC driver.

Canadians facing charges in Dominican

Four Canadians and an Algerian man face charges following a brawl outside the nightclub in the Dominican Republic. A 19 year old Barrie resident, Jordan Morrison, vacationing in the Dominican is beaten to death. He embarked in this brawl by defending a woman who was being harassed by one of the Canadian men. Two other Canadians saw what happened and will be giving formal statements to what happened in court. Jordan Morrison lived with Asperger’s syndrome which is a type of autism. He was known as an avid skateboarder by his friends and neighbors. He was a good man and later on in life he wanted to join the military. He had also just recently graduated from Barrie North Collegiate Institute. Jordan Morrison was a good person.

I believe this is unfortunate event for Canadians and all who have known Jordan Morrison. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He did a heroic act by defending the young lady who was being harassed. Jordan was going to be in the military and he would have been an amazing asset to Canada’s military. It was also said that only 2 of the Canadian men will stay in jail until the case is over. But the other Canadian and Algerian will most likely post bail. I strongly believe that jail time should be handed out to all who were in the fight. It is a true misfortune to see such a great person die in such an awful way.

Cairo's Tenth Day of Protests

Today is February the 3rd and there is chaos in Cairo. It has been a long 10 days because there is a huge protests going on between the supporters of President Hosni Mubarak and with the protesters against the president. In the early day of the protests it was peaceful in away and it finally takes a turn for the worst. There have been outbreaks of violence between the supports and protesters. It has been said that 5 protesters have been shot and killed to death. It is believed to be done of the work by Egyptian police in civilian clothing. In the streets of Cairo the current number of injuries is 800 and the vast majorities are head wounds and some are quite fatal. So far the President’s supporters are pushing back the protesters and at one point there were men on horses and even a camel to push back the protestors. It is sheer determination by the protestors because every minute they protest they take heavy gunfire and fire bombs of the President’s followers.

If I were an Egyptian Citizen I would join the protestors. They are fighting for a greater cause. The Citizens of Cairo are fighting for their freedom! The President of Egypt’s time is over; it is time for a turn for the best. I believe that if he were a true president he would step down and honor what his people want. The President is causing death and chaos in his own people and country. I also believe that there should be even more military presence and also more arrests to the people throwing fire bombs. All in all I believe that the president of Egypt should step down his time is over.
